PCS Alum Davis Riley Competes in The Masters

PCS is proud to celebrate alumnus Davis Riley (‘15), who competed in the 2025 Masters Tournament this past weekend in Augusta, Georgia. One of the most prestigious events in professional golf, the Masters features an elite field — and Davis made Bobcat Nation proud as he played among the sport’s best, finishing tied for 21st in his debut appearance.

Before making his mark on the PGA Tour, Davis was a standout golfer at PCS. He won his very first tournament as a sixth grader — competing against high school students — and went on to win individual state championships every year from seventh through twelfth grade, with the exception of his junior year. He also competed in the USA Junior Amateur twice and was honored with the Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Award for sportsmanship and character.

Dr. Allen Smithers, former PCS Head of School and golf coach, reflected on Davis’s journey: “He is not only an outstanding golfer, but an outstanding young man. He had his sights set on the Masters since 6th grade.” He humbly added, “All I really did was get him to tournaments on time.”

After graduating from PCS, Davis attended the University of Alabama, where he was a standout on the Crimson Tide golf team. He earned Second Team All-SEC honors as a sophomore and was ranked as the top collegiate golfer in the nation entering his junior year. In 2018, he represented the United States in the Arnold Palmer Cup, contributing to the team’s victory.

Turning professional in 2019, Davis quickly found success on the Korn Ferry Tour, securing two wins in 2020. He earned his PGA Tour card and continued to impress, capturing his first PGA Tour victory at the 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside partner Nick Hardy. In 2024, he claimed his first individual PGA Tour title at the Charles Schwab Challenge, winning by five strokes.

Davis continues to inspire the next generation of PCS student-athletes with his talent, character, and determination. We can’t wait to cheer him on in his next tournament.

Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat!
