Thirty (30) students at Presbyterian Christian School have earned the designation of AP Scholar from the College Board in recognition of their outstanding achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) Exams.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program provides students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both through successful performance on AP Exams. Approximately 22 percent of the more than 2.8 million high school students worldwide who took AP Exams earned scores high enough to receive an AP Scholar Award.
Students completed AP Exams in May 2026 after successfully finishing challenging college-level coursework at their high schools. The College Board recognizes several levels of AP Scholar achievement based on students’ exam performance.
Three (3) students earned the distinction of AP Scholar with Distinction. To receive this honor, students must earn a score of 3 or higher on at least five AP Exams and maintain an average score of at least 3.5 across all exams taken. Walker Easterling, Elizabeth Gatlin, and Bradley Graham earned the AP Scholar with Distinction designation.
Eight (8) students earned the designation of AP Scholar with Honor. This recognition is awarded to students who earn a score of 3 or higher on at least four AP Exams, with an average score of at least 3.25 on all exams attempted. Students receiving the AP Scholar with Honor designation were Kate Cooley, Burn Curry, Mary Linley Gatlin, Caroline Morton, Merry McKeen Strickland, Sophie Woods, and Heidi Zheng.
Nineteen (19) students earned the AP Scholar Award by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. These students are Luke Bailey, Vivian Bishop, Andrew Brett, Sims Conrad, Kaycee Craig, Harris Curry, David Gavel, Gabe Gygi, Will Hatten, Reese Herrod, Lizzie Hicks, Emma Johnson, Joines Johnson, Ivy Quin, Abigail Rix, Colt Robertson, Robert Schwartz, Saylor Sims, and Derek Thompson.
Fifteen (15) of this year’s AP Scholar recipients at Presbyterian Christian School were juniors when they completed these exams. These students have one more year to complete additional college-level coursework and potentially earn a higher AP Scholar designation.
The AP Program provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced standing during the college admissions process. Each AP Exam is developed by a committee of college and university faculty members and AP teachers, ensuring that every exam reflects the rigorous academic standards expected by faculty at many of the nation’s leading liberal arts and research institutions. Most four-year colleges and universities in the United States award college credit and/or advanced placement for qualifying AP Exam scores.
