PCS is proud to celebrate three of our talented student artists whose work was showcased at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Make Your Mark Student Exhibition on August 23, 2025. Congratulations to Mary Linley Gatlin, Ellie Nichols, and Hallie Jussely for representing PCS with excellence and creativity.
Secondary Fine Arts teacher, Mr. Ricardo Moody, reflected on their journey, sharing, “It has been such a joy teaching Hallie, Mary Linley, and Ellie since 7th grade. Over the years, I’ve watched them grow as artists, developing their talents and refining their skills now that they’re in high school. It’s especially exciting to see their work showcased in a major student art show. I’m really proud of them and all they’ve accomplished.”
The exhibition was especially meaningful as PCS students earned top recognition. Mary Linley Gatlin received first place in Use of Color, while Ellie Nichols placed third in Still Life. Ellie also shared her love for the PCS art program, saying, “I love taking art at PCS because it allows me to be creative and learn so many new skills and techniques that help me create projects I can be proud of! I enjoy working alongside my friends and seeing how our projects are similar yet unique in our own special ways.”
We are incredibly proud of Hallie, Mary Linley, and Ellie for their hard work and dedication. Their accomplishments are a testament to the strength of our Fine Arts program and the opportunities PCS provides for students to discover and grow their God-given talents.
