We are thrilled to celebrate PCS third grader Barron “Bear” Miller, who has officially become a published author with the release of his first book, The Adventures of Something.
With the support of his grandmother, Jan Macko, who carefully typed out his stories, and illustrator Kym Garraway Braley, who brought his characters to life through vibrant artwork, Bear’s imaginative tales made the leap from spoken word to the printed page.
The idea for the book began during car rides home from school. Bear would share elaborate stories with his grandmother, sparking her idea that his creativity deserved a wider audience. The finished book takes readers on an adventure filled with treasure maps, fascinating creatures, and an unexpected twist creating an imaginative journey for readers of all ages.
Recently, Bear had the chance to share his accomplishment with his classmates by reading his book aloud to his third-grade peers at PCS. Following his reading, students asked questions about his writing process and what it felt like to see his story transformed into a real book.
Copies of The Adventures of Something are available for purchase. To order, please email AdventuresofSomething@yahoo.com.
