It was a day full of sunshine, smiles, glitter, and ribbons. Field Day 2025 was a huge hit for PCS K5-6th graders. From tug-of-war to three-legged races, students competed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons. The event was led by PCS Elementary’s physical education team – Connor Giordano, Rachel Jussely, and Jacob Morgan.
PCS has not had a Field Day since before the pandemic. Last summer, Coach Morgan proposed bringing Field Day back, and the elementary administration was 100% behind it. PTO graciously supplied t-shirts for every student and employee.
“I loved Field Day when I was a kid, and I wanted our students to be able to share that experience and hopefully love it just as much,” Morgan said.
“I am thrilled to see Field Day return this year,” said Ginny Graham, Elementary Principal. “It’s one of those core memories from my own elementary school days, and I love that our students get to add this as a core memory for themselves, too! It’s a day where laughter echoes, friendships grow, teamwork is built, and smiles are everywhere. I look forward to this being a tradition at PCS for years to come!”
Despite the competition, students were heard chanting their classmates’ names as they competed. Parents were also encouraged to attend the event and cheer on their children. The day wasn’t complete without a sack lunch and Kona Ice.
“It was such an awesome day,” Morgan said. “Several students came up to me and told me it was the ‘best day ever.’ That made it all worth it.”
Plans for an even bigger and better Field Day 2026 are already underway.
