PCS is excited to announce Dan Napier will be joining our football staff as offensive coordinator. Coach Napier brings 14 years of coaching experience, including four years as a head varsity coach. Most recently, he served as offensive coordinator at Copiah Academy, helping lead them to 29 wins in three years and a state runner-up finish in 2021. Prior to Copiah, he served at Simpson Academy for 11 years. The Cougars reached the championship game twice during his tenure as head coach, and he compiled a record of 29 wins and 21 losses. He also led the junior high program to a 25-7 record before becoming varsity head coach.
PCS head coach Michael Brown is thrilled about adding Napier to the staff. “Dan brings what need at PCS — a diverse knowledge of multiple skill sets and the ability to complement our players’ skills,” he said. “Most of all, he and his family will be an investment in our school and community. We want to welcome Dan and his wife, Presley, and their three children, Daniel, Darcy, and Marcy. We’re blessed to have them as part of PCS!”
Napier is known for his ability to scout out his opponents and prepare a necessary approach. A Harvard University graduate, he is skilled in his teaching in the classroom just as much as on the field. He will assist with the track team as well as teach in the math department.
“Coach Napier is a great addition to our team! His experience as a head coach will benefit Coach Brown and the coaching staff, and the fact he had already chosen PCS to educate his son speaks volumes about his respect for our school,” Head of School Jimmy Messer said. “We look forward to introducing him to the PCS community and will have more information about his arrival date in the coming days.”
