PCS Seniors Gain Insight from Recent Alumni

Presbyterian Christian School seniors recently had the opportunity to hear firsthand about college life from those who know it best. Fifteen PCS alumni who are currently enrolled at universities returned to campus to share their experiences and offer guidance as seniors prepare for the transition beyond graduation.

During the conversation, seniors asked thoughtful and practical questions about what they wished they had known before leaving high school, how long it takes to adjust to college life, and what differences surprised them most once they arrived on campus. Alumni spoke candidly about the realities of college academics, noting the shift in workload, increased independence, and the responsibility of managing time without the structure of high school, while joking that surviving Ms. Sugg’s famously challenging class turned out to be excellent preparation for college coursework.

Alumni also addressed questions surrounding campus life, including finding friends, stepping outside of comfort zones, getting involved in student organizations, and navigating roommate relationships. They shared advice on communicating expectations early, being flexible, and giving both yourself and others grace during the adjustment period. Topics such as sorority and fraternity life, residence hall experiences, and memorable college moments sparked laughter and honest reflection.

The discussion also touched on more practical concerns, including tuition costs, budgeting, and the reality of student loans. When asked what advice they would give their senior-year selves, many emphasized confidence, perseverance, and the importance of trusting the preparation they received at PCS.

This event served as a meaningful reminder of the lasting bond between PCS and its graduates. Alumni reflected with gratitude on how PCS prepared them academically and personally for college life, reassuring seniors that while the transition may feel intimidating, they are ready. We are thankful for our alumni who returned to their alma mater to invest in the Class of 2026 and help them look ahead with confidence, clarity, and excitement for what lies ahead.
