Our biblical worldview calls us to rigorously challenge each student academically, in a way that is embedded in relevant contexts and caring relationships with teachers. Our calling requires that we fully utilize our heads, our hands, and our hearts as we explore the beauty of God’s creation.
Here at PCS, we desire to serve our students and support them in reaching their God-given potential. We provide two options for accessing reasonable accommodations and helping students excel to the best of their abilities. Our staff of responsible and caring educators is prepared to provide accommodations or modifications for students.
Tier 1 – Testing Center and Approved Accommodations – No Charge
Upon submission of current psycho-educational or other appropriate testing, a PCS Official Accommodation Plan will be completed for the student. Not all accommodations recommended by the evaluator are available, but students will have access to testing accommodations, extended time, small group and individual testing, priority seating, and others.
Tier 2 – Student Academic Support (SAS) Class* – (includes Tier 1 accommodations)
Students who have submitted appropriate professional testing and accommodation recommendations are eligible to enroll in the Student Academic Support program. These students will meet with SAS staff on a regular basis (varied formats) who will work with students to develop executive functioning skills such as organization, task-initiation, time management, and self-regulation, as well study skills and other practical functions. In addition, SAS staff, working with regular classroom teachers, will provide necessary tutoring and reteaching services.
