NEW HIRE: Campus Safety and Operations Director

July 13, 2023

Dear PCS Family,

The safety of our students is a major priority for PCS. Our admin team and our Board both understand the importance of insuring the safety of our students physically and emotionally. As we strive to provide the safest environment possible for our students we have determined that it is time to add a position that provides a physical security presence to monitor our campuses each school day.

To fill this need, we are pleased to announce that Brandon Brown has joined PCS as our new Campus Safety and Operations Director. Brandon is a former Army Ranger who has performed security detail duties during his career.  In addition to having a military background, he has also served as Director of Homes of Hope for Children, as a clinician for Pinebelt mental health resources, and as a contract social worker for Hattiesburg Clinic. Brandon has a Master’s degree in Social Work and is an active PCS parent.

Brandon’s combination of military training, his familiarity with our school as a parent, and his social work and counseling background make him a perfect fit for this position. He not only provides physical security but understands PCS, our culture and our needs.  We believe Brandon brings the perfect demeanor needed to help us lead and grow our security program. He will help us keep everyone on campus safe while also ensuring our students are cared for by an individual who understands their emotional and spiritual needs.

In this new role, he will provide a security presence on campus each school day while also overseeing the formation of and evaluation of our current emergency plans. Brandon will be tasked with looking closely at our facilities and providing a master plan for any changes necessary to ensure our students have the safest environment possible. He will also assist us with other operational needs as they arise.

This is part of an ongoing focus and priority of security for our students that has included hundreds of security cameras, shatter-proof glass installation, secure access card entry systems, digital security programming, training of faculty/staff, and more. With Brandon’s background, he is primed to take the lead on these and future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jimmy Messer
