Happy fall, Bobcats – it’s testing season!

Here’s a special THURSDAY TESTING edition to remind everyone of a few things!

The ACT is Tuesday, October 18th.

Only those who signed up are taking this test – you should know who you are.

School is normal for grades 7-9 (no bells).

Students NOT taking the ACT in grades 10-12 should remain at home.

Students testing will report directly to testing rooms Tuesday morning.

Testing rooms are posted outside of the College Counseling Office.

Students testing are dismissed after testing.

The PSAT is Tuesday, October 25th.

Every student grades 7-11 will take this exam.

Seniors should stay home on this day.

Students will report directly to HOMEROOM on the 25th, and will test in homeroom. School will be a HALF DAY on the 25th, as students will be dismissed after testing.

Here’s what you need to bring for testing:

  1. Number 2 pencils

  2. A Calculator (check to see if your calculator is allowed HERE!).

  3. Your WELL-RESTED, NOURISHED brain. Get a good night’s sleep the night before, and eat a solid breakfast the morning of your test.

  4. ACT ONLY: photo ID.

  5. Snacks for breaks (optional)

  1. The PCS College Fair is October 26th.

  2. Mock Interviews are being held October 26th as well. You MUST sign up in advance if you would like to participate in mock interviews. Whether you want to practice for a scholarship interview or a job interview of any kind, this program is for you. Please fill out this interest form if you are interested:

10/22 – national ACT

10/25 – PSAT @ PCS

10/26 – The PCS College Fair, 10:00am – Noon in the PCS Cafeteria

10/26 – Mock Interviews for Juniors & Seniors

10/31 – Voices of Democracy Scholarship Deadline (submissions can be sent to, or be submitted directly to the local VFW Post).

10/31 – Coca-Cola Scholars Application Deadline

11/1 – Dual Credit Course Fees will be drafted from FACTS accounts (ONLY for families of students taking DUAL CREDIT CLASSES)

11/15 – Scholarship Application Deadline @ OleMiss

11/19 – USM Black & Gold Day! Register:

12/1 – Scholarship Application Deadline @ State, Scholarship Application Deadline @ USM

We will not have Tuesday Editions for the next TWO weeks due to testing. If there is anything I can help you with in the meantime, please email or schedule an appointment.
