Happy Tuesday Bobcats!

Lots of random information coming your way this week, so let’s get rolling:

  1. Students taking the ACT on October 18th: PLEASE SEE ME for important information that must be taken care of PRIOR TO the test date. You will also receive an email from me regarding these non-test instructions. THIS HAS TO BE COMPLETED, so please do not ignore this announcement!

  1. If you plan on attending Ole Miss, the room selection Round 1 deadline is THIS FRIDAY @ 4pm, cst.

  1. The FAFSA becomes available on October 1st! Here is the link: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

  1. STUDENTS TAKING AP Classes: you MUST be registered in AP CLASSROOM by the end of this week! See me if you need help! You will be signed up for the AP course exams which will take place in MAY. These exam fees (ranging from $90-$150) will be billed directly to your FACTS accounts in the Spring. If you have any questions about the AP Exam process, please contact the College Counseling office.

  1. The President’s Scholarship is an EXTREMELY prestigious award for graduating seniors. The state of Mississippi can nominate up to 20 students from across our state. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is November 1st.

To apply, go to 2023 USPSP Combined Flyer and Application_. I have also attached a file containing the application to this email.

  1. The University of Alabama’s Early College Program has ONE Introductory Course left for the fall – it begins November 3rd, and the application deadline for this course is Monday, October 17 at 4:45 p.m. This course is FREE and allows you to take other college credit-bearing courses while in high school. You must be a current sophomore, junior or senior in high school with a 3.0 or higher grade point average since the ninth grade.

  1. William Carey College is offering a free workshop based on various technical document production. It is called the LATEX Workshop; information is attached.

11/1 – Dual Credit Course Fees will be drafted from FACTS accounts                 (ONLY for families of students taking DUAL CREDIT CLASSES)
