Fall 2014

Boomer, The PCS Mascot  – Tatum Cave, a PCS junior, serves as “Boomer,” the PCS Mascot.  Boomer won 1st place at the MAIS Mascot Competition!  Great job Boomer!

Cheer
Varsity – Sponsor Donna Bielstein and the Varsity Cheerleaders placed 1st in the AAA Tumbling Division as well as bringing home the Overall Cheer Championship for the highest score among ALL competing cheer divisions at the MAIS State Spirit Competition!  In addition, our Varsity Cheerleaders have done a fantastic job in planning and executing in all Pep Rallies.  Great job Varsity Cheerleaders!
JV Cheer – Mrs. Bielstein also serves as the sponsor of our JV Cheerleaders.  The JV Squad placed 2nd in the MAIS Tumbling Division at the MAIS State Spirit Competition. Congratulations, JV Cheer!

Bobcat Color Guard – Under the direction of COL. Mark Prine, the Bobcat Color Guard received “All-Superior Ratings” at the 2014 MAIS Marching Festival for the fourth year running!  The Bobcat Color Guard received special recognition from the nationally-recognized judging panel for their varied use of color guard equipment, drill design, and performance concept.  Great job Color Guard!

Men’s and Women’s Cross  Country – The girls cross country team finished 1st again in the MAIS AAA Girls division to become the 8 Time defending state champion Women’s Cross Country Team?  What an accomplishment for Coach Wayne Williams and the young ladies who won number 8 this year, but also all of those involved in the 7 prior state championships!  Our Men’s Cross Country Team did not disappoint either as they battled their way to a second consecutive runner-up finish in the Overall Cross Country Meet following 5 state championships of their own prior to that!  So, that’s 13 state championships and 2 runner-up finishes for our cross country program over the last 8 years, can’t say anything but wow!  Congratulations to both of these groups and Coach Williams for their unbelievable accomplishments!– Is there any better way to leadoff an overview of the harvest than with the now 8 Time defending state champion Women’s Cross Country Team?  What an accomplishment for Coach Wayne Williams and the young ladies who won number 8 this year, but also all of those involved in the 7 prior state championships!  Our Men’s Cross Country Team did not disappoint either as they battled their way to a second consecutive runner-up finish in the Overall Cross Country Meet following 5 state championships of their own prior to that!  So, that’s 13 state championships and 2 runner-up finishes for our cross country program over the last 8 years, can’t say anything but wow!  Congratulations to both of these groups and Coach Williams for their unbelievable accomplishments!

PCS Drill Team – Sponsor Katie Lott and the PCS Drill Team competed in the MAIS State Spirit Competition and placed 1st in the AAA Kick Division and 2nd in the AAA Pom Division!  In addition, the Drill Team has played a integral role in the planning and execution of all Pep Rallies along with our Varsity Cheerleaders!  Great job Drill Team!

Fast-Pitch Softball –  Our softball program finished up their season in the AAA South State Tournament where they battled to the very final at bat!  Under first year Coach, Megan Bond, and assistant Bob Dykes the Lady Bobcat Softball Program made great strides and competed hard throughout the season.  The Lady Bobcat Softball program also competes with a JV team and the future is bright under the bright lights of Lady Bobcat Softball!

Football  – Our Varsity Football Team secured a spot in this year’s playoffs. The season ended in the Semi-finals vs. MRA.  The Varsity Football Team ended the season 9-4  There were 3 players selected to play in the MAIS All Star Football Game on Friday, December 6:  Fate Eiland; John Blakeney and J.D. Polles. Our JV Football team led by first year head coach Ryan Reid saw success and growth as a team this year.  We look forward to their future, as Bobcat Football is here to stay!

Golf  – Davis Riley, a senior at PCS, traveled to Scotland as a member of the U.S. Junior Ryder Cup Team.  There were 6 boys and 6 girls selected to represent the United States in the three day competition, which the United States won!  This was a tremendous honor and we would like to congratulate Davis on his selection as well as their victory!

The Boys Golf Team placed 2nd in the MAIS Division 1 South State Tournament held at the Hattiesburg Country Club.  Davis Riley placed 1st in the MAIS South State Tournament and 1st in the MAIS AAA Division 1 Tournament.  Davis was recognized by the Mississippi Sports Writers as the Top Male Golfer in Mississippi and he was named the Top Male High School Golfer by USA Today.

Women’s Soccer  – Our Lady Bobcats Soccer Team finished strong this season making it to the semi-final match of the MAIS AAA  State Tournament.   The Lady Bobcats beat Jackson Academy in the first round of the state tournament  winning on penalty kicks, following 110 minutes of soccer. Our Lady Bobcats put forth another inspiring effort vs. Jackson Prep but came up a little short in double overtime in the semifinal match.  Coach Lisa Mann and the Lady Bobcats had a great season following last year’s state runner-up finish and are poised for great things in the future.

Swimming – Our Swim Team finished the MAIS State Meet 6th out of 16 schools competing.  We had 19 Junior and Senior High School students and 25 Elementary students compete in this event.  Under the guidance of Coaches Jennifer Robinson and Carol St. Louis the swim team competed at a very high lever!

Volleyball – The Lady Bobcats Varsity Volleyball Team finished their season as the MAIS State Runner-Up.  This is following three consecutive state championships for our Lady Bobcats!  Coach Celeste Vial and Coach Erin Barker have done a great job with our Volleyball program.  Two other Volleyball teams competed this year as well, JV and Dream Team, and did a great job. The future of Lady Bobcat Volleyball is bright! Great job ladies!

WINTER 2014

Basketball – The Lady Bobcats completed their regular season at 28-2.  They were runner-up in the MAIS  AAA Division 1 Tournament and the MAIS AAA Tournament.  The Lady Bobcats placed 2nd in the MAIS Overall Tournament.

Four Lady Bobcats were named to the MAIS AAA All-Star Squad:   Reagan Dykes, Trista Magee, Holly Hawkins and Madison Campbell.  Coach Missy Bilderback was chosen as the Head Coach of the MAIS AA-AAA Squad.

Boys Soccer – The Bobcats finished 2nd in the regular season in the MAIS North AAA Division 1.   In Round 1 of the State Tournament the Bobcats defeated Washington School.  The season ended in the MAIS AAA State Semi-finals with a loss to Madison Ridgeland Academy.

2 PCS Bobcats were named to the MAIS AAA-AA All Star Soccer Team: Jay Simpson and Brooks Bigelow.

Softball –  Reagan Dykes and Madison Norton made the All-District Team.  Highlights of the season included beating Jackson Prep and going 2-1 in the Parklane Tournament.
