My favorite thing about cross country is the rewarding feeling of setting personal bests and winning races after months of training and the feeling of being part of such an amazing team.

From cross country, I’ve learned how to be a leader and the self-discipline that it takes behind the scenes in order to perform the best that I can on the course.

My character has been shaped by my time on the cross country team, because it has taught me the value of friendships and team work that I otherwise would not have been exposed to. Because this team has banded together so strongly, we have won 6 state championship titles in the past 7 years by pushing each other to the max in every single workout.

My favorite cross country memory was when Nathan and I crossed the finish line at the state championship this year and turned around to see a whole line of PCS runners coming up the hill. That was such a happy feeling to see us end our senior year by dominating the MAIS.

This next year, although I won’t be on the team, I know that the guys have a great chance at possibly winning another state title and I am so excited to see what they can pull off on their own.

I am so thankful to Coach Williams and Coach Logan for developing such an amazing Cross Country and Track & Field program at PCS and for making memories in the minds of all of the athletes that have been a part of the program under their leadership.
