FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: PCS BEGINS SEARCH FOR NEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

February 13, 2023

HATTIESBURG, MS—Presbyterian Christian School’s head football Coach Bobby Carr has informed us that he is pursuing other coaching opportunities. With this news, PCS and Coach Carr agreed to mutually separate to allow for PCS to promptly begin the search for his replacement.

“Coach Bobby Carr has been a great member of the PCS Family over the last year and jumped into his role ready to hit the ground running. His desire to win and to push his team of coaches and players to improve is fun to watch on the gridiron. His time at PCS, while short, has been impactful, and on behalf of our entire school I would like to thank him for investing his time and talent here. We pray the Lord would continue to bless him in all that is planned to come,” shares PCS Head of School, Dr. Allen Smithers.

Coach Bobby Carr shares, “PCS has a special group of students that I will be forever grateful to have been given the opportunity work with. I’ve seen a lot of hard work, both from my coaching staff and from my players this year—and a heart to win is something difficult to instill or coach into others. In some ways, you either have it, or you don’t—and my coaches and players at PCS have demonstrated that in spades. The opportunity ahead of me is simply one I cannot turn down, but I want to thank PCS for all their hospitality and support during my time as a Bobcat and look forward to keeping up with all the Lord has for this school and students going forward.”

PCS is kicking off the search for the new Head Football Coach and hopes to have this position filled as soon as possible.
